Based in Gisborne, Tim Gander is an experienced and dynamic presenter with a decade of experience working with educators to solve practice-based challenges across Aotearoa. He has worked with The Mind Lab on the PGCert in Digital and Collaborative Learning and the Master of Contemporary Education. With a teaching background, Tim brings practical knowledge and expertise to his engaging presentations on education and leadership. He is pursuing a PhD that focuses on using BIE coaching as a collaborative tool to enable more transparent communication, goal-setting, and opportunities to create hybrid spaces. Tim is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the academic, peer-reviewed journal He Rourou. Tim is currently Postgraduate Director at academyEX (The Mind Lab).
He is aware that effective teaching is not only about the use of technology, but also how the technology supports teaching, learning, and building relationships. He is passionate about engaging students and whānau in a collaborative learning journey, and believes that the integration of technology and adapted pedagogies enable a greater depth of learning, understanding, and encouragement.
He is a keen
surfer,
fly fisherman,
and more importantly father to his wonderful children and
husband to his beautiful wife!
